Leftover pastry cheesy paprika biscuits!
I always find, when making jam tarts or other such bakes including pastry that there are always annoying offcuts that usually end up in the bin. With this super easy recipe, you can turn those scraps into delicious cheese biscuits. They went down so well that I now make pastry just to make these biscuits.
Ingredients
200g pastry (shortcrust or puff)
75g grated cheese
a few shakes of paprika
Method
1. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.
2. Roll out the pastry about 0.5cm thick and sprinkle over some of the cheese. Shake some paprika over and then fold the piece in half. Continue rolling to combine.
3. Continue doing this method about three times.
4. Then cut out your biscuits into any shape you like. At Christmas these are wonderful when cut into stars.
5. Place on a lined baking tray and sprinkle over the remaining cheese and some more paprika. Be careful not to put too much paprika on as you don't want to startle your guests!
6. Bake in the oven for 12 - 15 minutes until golden.
ENJOY!
