Wow. Just wow.

Wow. Just wow. This is THE best chocolate cake, or cake in general for that matter, that I've ever made, eaten or reminisced about! It is honestly unbeatable, so I implore you: stop what you're doing, grab some ingredients and prepare for a delicious journey into cake heaven.

P.S. It's rather large..!! :)

Ingredients:

125g cocoa powder

200ml boiling water

6 eggs

100ml milk

350g self raising flour

1 tbsp baking powder

200g butter (softened)

550g caster sugar

For the icing:

200g butter (softened)

500g icing sugar

100g cocoa

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180C and line a large, round baking tin with baking paper.

2. Put the cocoa powder in a large heatproof bowl and add the boiling water. Mix thoroughly.

3. In a smaller bowl, lightly beat the eggs then add to the cocoa.

4. Add in the milk, flour, baking powder, butter and sugar and mix well (you may need an electric mixer).

5. Pour into the tin and bake for 60 mins, until firm.

6. Remove the cake from the oven and leave to cool in the tin before removing from the tin.

7. For the icing, beat the butter and sugar together in an electric mixer.

8. In a small bowl, mix the cocoa with around 3 tbsp boiling water (it will become a paste).

9. Add to the sugary mix then combine.

10. Once the cake is completely cool, slice in half and spread half of the icing in the middle.

11. Place the other half on top and cover with the remaining icing.

12. Enjoy!
