Part 4 of The Baltic Series: Riga, Latvia

And so to Riga we went! From rural idyll to urban beauty. Riga has so much going for it - incredible history, beautiful buildings and the best food of the trip so far.

I took 100s of photos in Riga - almost a photo a step - so I've whittled it down to just a few favourites below.

Below - the Freedom Monument, honouring soldiers killed during the Latvian War of Independence.

We pretty much hit all the historic sites on the first afternoon, ending the day with a trip up the cathedral as the sun set.

Our second day in Riga wasn't quite as cultural but was easily as fun..and memorable!! We took the train to Latvia's biggest water park on the Jurmala coast. It was insanely fun and a highlight of the trip for sure!
